Games Like Deadliest Catch
Take command of your own fishing vessel in the deadly Bering Sea and catch red king crabs in this realistic simulator!
Deadliest Catch: The Game is a realistic 3D simulation game with strategic elements, where you get to experience Alaskan king crab catching. Travel to Dutch Harbor by the Bering Sea to become the captain of your own fishing vessel. From sailing, through resource management and logistics, to direct interaction with equipment and the caught crabs - everything is re-created with detailed models and realistic water physics.
This is not for the weak of heart. With some of the roughest conditions imaginable, Alaskan crab fishing is one of the most dangerous occupations in the United States. Edgar Hansen of Deadliest Catch reveals how the men of the Northwestern go fur.
As your vessel’s Captain, you set out on fishing trips in the high - and most dangerous - season, limited by time and quotas, and have one task: to catch as many crabs as you can. Oh, and also survive. Make strategic decisions regarding the location of fishing spots, selection of equipment, the number of pots (cages) you’ll take on board and many others. Earn tons of cash, improve your fishing vessel, compete with challenging opponents.. And most importantly - become the best king crab catcher!
- Once signed in, you receive better, personalized recommendations for similar music, movies, TV shows, books, authors, games, and podcasts, based on what you like. You can build a taste profile, find people with shared interests, and keep up with their lists and discoveries.
- In Deadliest Catch: The Game we play the role of a fisherman who catches crabs on capricious and often dangerous waters of the Bring Sea. Observing the action from the first person perspective (FPP), we sit at the controls of a cutter equipped with specialized tools like a crane, launcher and winch, which we operate ourselves.
- The Deadliest Catch captains aren't so sure this will be Johnathan's last season, despite what the Time Bandit captain is claiming. One thing's for sure though: they're all going to miss him when he does retire.
Experience the immersive world from a first-person perspective.
Sail across vast Alaskan waters.

Bringing the beloved Discovery Channel series into the gaming world was from the very beginning quite a challenge. Given how complex the life of Alaskan crab fishermen is, we had to settle for some compromises. At first, we decided that the best way to design the game within the available budget and timing would be to make it in All-in-One system - with accurate simulation of all the tasks performed on the vessel’s deck as core mechanics. When we started to show our community devlogs and materials from the game, we were showered with comments saying that what we need in Deadliest Catch: The Game is the crew. Because we are foremost gamers ourselves and those arguments were really convincing, we decided to change our focus - and to do whatever we can to implement the crew management. Along the way we came up with ideas for many additional features that we’d love to have in the game, but we had to abandon them because of the budget. Now, with your help and support, we’ll be able to create the game in a way that will hopefully bring you great experiences and joy!

Hello DC fans, guys and gals!
Today we’d like to share with you very important news! As you may know, some time ago, on the Steam page of Deadliest Cach: The Game we’ve spilled the beans about our preparation for Kickstarter Campaign. It’s been a busy period for us, with all the things we need to figure out, design, plan, draw, prepare and code before the start of our Kickstarter project, but we can finally say, that Kickstarter Campaign for Deadliest Catch: The Game will launch on June 7th 2019 - you can see the preview here: Kickstarter preview. Don’t forget to check notification icon on top!
So, why going on Kickstarter at all? Bringing the beloved Discovery Channel series into the gaming world was quite a challenge from day one. Given how complex is the life of Alaskan crab fishermen, we had to settle for some compromises. At first, we decided, that the best way to design the game within an available budget and timing, is to make it in All-in-One system - with accurate simulation of all the tasks performed on the vessel’s deck as core mechanics (you can see how we make it work in our previous devlog). But when we started to show our community materials from the game, we met with lots of comments, that what we need in Deadliest Catch: The Game is the crew. Because we are foremost gamers ourselves and those arguments were really convincing, we decided to change our focus - and to do whatever we can to implement the crew management. Having that in mind, we’ve decided that the Kickstarter Campaign will be the best solution, that’ll allow us to include in the game all cool features and ideas, that we’d have to abandon due to the production budget.
As we said, the main goal of the campaign will be implementing the crew management mechanics in its basic form. When you’ll hire a crewman, you’ll be able to assign him to a chosen task on deck - for example setting the pots or sorting the caught crabs. As he’ll keep performing the given task, he’ll get better at his job, doing it faster and more efficient. Additionally, when the crewman will be free for the moment, he’ll perform secondary actions, like preparing the bait or repairing the equipment.
We have some additional features planned from the start, so they make place in the stretch-goal list. Among them, you can find improvement of the crew management mechanics (f.e. the crewmen will get tired as they work on deck) or equipment upgrades. We’ve also included one of the big features that you were oftenly asking about - the multiplayer mode! :)
As for the campaign rewards, we’ve prepared multiple options for you. From getting a copy of the game at a better price, through access to beta-tests and digital posters, to exclusive rewards like placing hidden objects in the game or naming a captain after you - we’ve got you covered. In any case, look out for the limited early-bird (or in our case, the early-crab) rewards, cause you’ll be able to get a sweet deal out of them. And if you feel like testing the goods before a bigger purchase, the cheaper rewards will include a demo version of the game.
